Stories that heal,
not just entertain.

Laurie Edouard-Betsy writes the kind of stories many children wish adults understood — and the kind many parents wish they had growing up.

A certified counsellor based in the UK, Laurie creates relatable fiction that helps children process rejection, friendship struggles, identity pressure, and the impact of father absence, while helping parents better understand the emotions behind behaviour that is often misunderstood.

Her debut book, Could Never Be Me!, follows Elias, a Gen Z boy learning confidence in a world full of opinions. Her second book, The Wrong Kinda Loud, tells the story of Gia, a girl navigating approval-seeking friendships and confusing inner thoughts while growing up without a father's voice to guide her.

Laurie's books are written to open conversations between children and parents — not just entertain them.

She also co-founded Soul Surge Events, supporting men and women across the UK through purpose-driven community experiences, and leads strategic engagement and delivery teams in the technology space while actively championing youth development and mentorship — with the focus of seeing young people overcome obstacles and reach their full potential.
